2018 End-of-Year Letter
 
Please take time to discuss fully all of these details of the letter with your child.  In order for us to know that both you and your child understand the standards and consequences stated above, both signatures are required below.  Before your child can participate in these end-of-year activities and purchase his/her ticket to the banquet, this sheet must be signed and on file with your child’s homeroom teacher.  

A signed copy is due to HR Teachers by Friday, April 20th


Residency Verification Process
Dates: May 7th - June 11th

Parents/Guardians of students attending a Baltimore County high school must complete the residency verification process prior to the end of the 2018-2019 school year. 

Students who have committed to non-Baltimore County High Schools or private schools are EXEMPT; however, parents must still notify Mrs. Hightower via email at jhightower@bcps.org, or by phone at 410-887-5252.   

Mrs. Hightower, will be available for later hours on Wednesday, May 30th until 7:00 PM to accept documentation.


Class Spirit and Field Day / Picnic
Date: Friday, June 1st

In a show of spirit, all students should wear their class t-shirts.  Shirts should not be altered from their original form (i.e., cut, ripped, colored). 

There is no cost for the field day/picnic; however, students will bring a bagged lunch, snacks and bottled waters in a small string backpack to be carried throughout the day.  Those students needing to purchase lunch from the cafeteria should notify Mr.Glodek by Wednesday, May 31. 

NO GLASS CONTAINERS


HP Technology Collection Date
Date: Wednesday, June 6th

Laptops, battery packs, and bags will be collected, inspected, and inventoried on Wednesday, June 6. 

According to the BCPS Technology Device Student Agreement, students understand that it is their responsibility to keep devices and accessories secure and protected. 

Parents /Guardians may contact Mrs.England to make purchase arrangements for replacements.


Other Fees & Obligations Reconciliation
Date: Friday, June 8th

Outstanding balances and fines must be reconciled by Friday, June 8.  Textbooks, locks, and school-owned instruments must be returned to the appropriate academic teacher or paid for if lost, by Friday, June 8. 


Awards and Promotion Assembly
Date: Thursday, June 14th
Time: 8:30 AM - 10:30 Am     

Due to the large number of 8th graders and the auditorium’s seating capacity, we will distribute 2 tickets (no cost) per household to accommodate guests.  Unfortunately, additional tickets will not be available for this affair.  Small children under the age of five may sit on a parent’s lap, but older children must have a ticket.  Siblings who attend Parkville Middle School are not allowed to attend this assembly due to limited seating, and are expected to be in their scheduled classes. 

Tickets will be distributed in late May with a letter fully explaining the assembly procedures.  These tickets will be collected at the door and MUST be presented for entrance into the program.  Guests must be seated by 8:15 AM.  The program will begin promptly at 8:30 AM.  Please stay tuned for updates in May 2018.

We have very few parking spots available on site; therefore, please plan to park on the street, without blocking our neighbors’ driveways.  Baltimore County Police actively patrol the area and will issue citations for violations.

This is a 1/2 day of school; however, parents may submit a written request for their child to be dismissed immediately after the Awards and Promotion Assembly. It is recommended that parents submit written requests in advance of the Awards and Promotion Assembly.  Mr.Glodek will accept requests from students, before and during homeroom, in the main lobby, on Monday, June 11 and Tuesday, June 12.  A special form will be provided.


Banquet (Dinner & DJ)
Date: Thursday, June 14th
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

The cost of the banquet is $45.00 and open to Parkville Middle Students ONLY.

Parkville Middle School will accept two forms of payment for the banquet.

  • The credit card payment window is open from May 1 – May 18.  You can access the Online School Payments Portal at http://parkvillems.bcps.org/parents/online_school_payments
  • The cash payment window is open May 15 – May 18.  Payment will be accepted in the main lobby at the start of the school day. 

Parents must pick-up students promptly at 8:00 PM.

Parkville Middle School does not arrange, nor chaperone activities that take place following the banquet.


 

Students who fail to prove residency, return devices, satisfy fees/financial obligations, or make restitution by Monday, June 11, WILL NOT receive tickets to the Awards and Promotion Assembly or Banquet.
