WELCOME

Back again for 2026-27 our Community School Facilitator,
Corri Roche!
Corri Roche
"I am excited to join the team at Parkville Middle School as the Community School Facilitator in the 2025-26 school year. For the past eight years, I have served as the Supervisor of BCPS Magnet Programs and continue to serve on the Board of Directors of Magnet Schools of America. Prior to that I was a BCPS Title I Specialist, STEM Magnet Coordinator and Science Department Chair at Chesapeake HS, and a science teacher at Kenwood HS. Outside of school, I love to cook and travel, my two black cats, and spending time with my high school-aged sons who play football, lacrosse, and wrestle, and love everything outdoors!”

As we build together, we want to hear from you. This short survey will help us understand the needs, strengths, and priorities of our families and community. Your input is essential in shaping the programs and services we offer.

Summer Reading

summer reading

Summer is a time to relax, but it’s also important to keep minds active. Reading even one book helps prevent learning loss and prepares students for the year ahead. Unsure what title to choose? Click on this link for a grade-level book list, and free print, digital, and audio books are available through BCPL.

Summer Math Supports

Check out the flier below for details on math support systems to help your child over the summer.

If your child is currently enrolled to take Math 7 or Math 8 for the 26-27 school year, and are interested in taking Algebra 1 in Grade 8, you will have to demonstrate success with math content between your current course and the accelerated course on a readiness assessment at the beginning of the school year.

PLEASE NOTE: This assessment for acceleration is voluntary and optional.

Interested students will assess the first week of school to determine their readiness to change their math placement for the 26-27 school year.

  • Math 7 students will take an assessment covering prioritized grade 6 and grade 7 content to enroll in
    Math 7B/8.
  • Math 8 students will take an assessment covering prioritized grade 8 content to enroll in Algebra 1.

For questions, please contact Samantha Treat, mathematics department chair of Parkville Middle at [email protected]

To register your student, complete THIS FORM by August 30th, 2026.
